    Bauenstudio is a design and research firm located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The firm's philosophy is based on the commitment to an 'architecture of response' where we strive to create architecture that responds to all conditions of the existing environment, be they physical, cultural, spiritual or intellectual, and utilize contemporary materials while emphasizing space making. Bauenstudio embraces the need to work simultaneously at multiple scales, developing spatial organization strategies in conjunction with the details that interact with the occupant on intimate levels. We aver that our architectural process should reflect the refinement of ideas. Our design projects range from contemporary urban interventions to the development of the vernacular and suburban landscapes. These project types offer us the opportunity to advocate how to engage space through the physical environment.
